4. JOIN THE TEAM FOR PRE-GAME BRUNCH!
We are once again hosting a team brunch before each of our 3 remaining home games @ Best Western Seven Oaks Inn. The entire team eats at 8:45 with parents/fans joining them at 9:15 in the THUNDER ROOM. It is a great opportunity to meet the team, get to know other parents/fans and enjoy a great meal. Come out and be part of the pre-game festivities, then head over to the field at 12:15 for an ice cold Great Western beer in the Thunder Beer Gardens.
NFL Pool Tickets - The deadline of September 1 is fast approaching! You can hand in your tickets at the Clothing Table on game day, August 30 or at the Pre-game Brunch. I will have one other day next week (yet to be determined) for any last minute tickets. Please remember to have your name listed on each ticket as the seller, the tickets in the correct envelope in numerical order and that the money matches the amount of tickets sold.
Half a Beef Tickets - The Thunder is raffling off a 1/2 beef custom cut, wrapped and delivered. (Donated by Iron Works Farms) Tickets are $5.00 each or 3 for $10.00. Tickets will be sold at the Clothing Table on game day. Draw date is October 4, 2009 @ Mosaic Stadium.
Meet the Thunder Directors - On Wednesday, September 16 the Board of Directors are hosting a barbecue for the players, staff and coaches following their evening practice. This gives the players an opportunity to meet the people behind the scenes and it allows the directors to meet the fine young people our program is developing.
Team Picture - Watch for an email coming out soon in regards to a team picture that will be taken at Mosaic Stadium in early September. Each member of the Thunder organization will receive a copy of the picture at the Thunder Awards Banquet in November.
Thunder Fans,
It doesn't get much better than that! Beautiful evening, cold beer, good crowd and a fantastic game!
Hats off to the players, coaches and staff for providing us with great football action. If you were one of the many fans who tried to tape the game on Access 7 and didn't get the last few minutes it will be replayed on Saturday, August 22 from 1 - 4 p.m. (Thank you to the Coons Family for that information).
We once again have a PFC Player of the week on our team! Reid Quest was named Offensive Player for week #2. Congratulations Reid!

Thank you to everyone that came out to watch. We had a crowd of close to 900 people! As well, thanks to the volunteers that helped out. I have attached the itinerary for the Calgary trip this weekend. The hotel address is 1804 Crowchild Trail NW.
The hotel the team will be staying at in Winnipeg is the Canad Inn Garden City at 2100 McPhillips Street.
------------
With a rematch looming with the Hilltops on Saturday, September 12 we are planning to book a fan bus if enough people are interested. The bus would leave the clubhouse at 2:00 p.m. and then travel to Saskatoon where we would be treated to a tour of the great Western Brewery and then be fed brats and beer! Then off to the game for a 7:00 start. We would load the bus after the game and head straight to Regina. The following are approximate costs for a 56 passenger bus:
40 people would be $30.00 each plus game ticket cost
30 people would be $35.00 each plus game ticket cost
25 people would be $42.00 each plus game ticket cost
This has proven to be an exciting trip in the past so please consider joining in on the fun! If you are at all interested in riding the bus please contact me by email shawnmccall@sasktel.net as soon as possible. We will have to make a decision by Sept. 1
----------------
Thank you to everyone for their great support of our NFL Pool. Tickets are rolling in with the correct amount of money and tickets in numerical order. If you need more tickets or have tickets to hand in please see me at the clubhouse on Thursday, August 20 between 6:30 and 8:30. Remember the deadline for handing in tickets is September 1. I will be taking tickets at the clothing table at our August 30 home game and at the clubhouse on Tuesday, September 1 from 6:30-7:30. If you are not able to hand them in at either of these times please contact me directly and we can make other arrangements.
Have a great week and see you in Calgary!
Go Thunder Go!
Thunder Fans,
Count Down to Home Opener!
If this weekend's game is an indication of what is to come, we are in for a great season.
A big thanks to the team managers Ron Reinhart and Chuck Toth who spend countless hours months in advance making arrangements for our road trips. They insure the bus, hotel rooms and meals are all in order so that the players, coaches and staff just need to worry about the game. Our next 3 road trips are to Calgary, Saskatoon and Winnipeg. It was great to see so many Thunder Fans in Edmonton decked out in THUNDERWEAR!

I will be set up just outside the clubhouse, which allows for a great view of practice!

Reminder to players to have their fees in as soon as possible.
