Regina Thunder Enter Final Week of Training Camp
This week the Regina Thunder continue to prepare for the 2024 PFC season following a convincing pre-season 38-3 victory over the Calgary Colts.
Scott MacAulay, in his 12th season as Thunder Head Coach, used the exhibition game with the Colts to evaluate the talent he has at training camp.
“With our returning veterans and a very strong recruitment class, we have had great competition for playing time and we expect these battles to continue until we set the final roster for the season opener in Winnipeg,” said MacAulay. “Our ultimate goal is to bring another Canadian Bowl championship to Regina.”
The 2024 season marks the Thunder’s 25th Anniversary season as Regina’s junior football team. This year the Thunder will kick off the PFC regular season on the road in Winnipeg on Sunday, August 11 against the Rifles.
Building a championship program takes building a culture that gets the most of each player and each position and gelling as a team. What has made the Thunder so successful to play for is how they treat their players and provide them with opportunity for growth both on and off the field.
“Our players are always our priority, and we remain dedicated to help them develop into the future leaders for our community,” said Murad Al-Katib, President of the Regina Thunder Football Club. “This season is a special season for the Thunder. Our boys are ready and we will do all we can to support the journey to a championship.”
