Thursday, May 1 - For Immediate Release
The countdown to junior football season is over — the Regina Thunder are kicking off the 2025 CJFL season with their annual Spring Camp. Workouts begin Friday, May 2, at Mosaic Stadium.
Scott MacAulay, now entering his 13th season as the Thunder’s bench boss, is set to evaluate an impressive roster of 139 players, including 69 returning veterans during this weekend’s three-day camp.
Coming off a triumphant 2024 campaign where the Thunder won the Prairie Conference Championship with a thrilling 24–19 victory over their archrival the Saskatoon Hilltops, MacAulay is very enthusiast about what’s ahead in 2025.
“We had an incredibly productive off-season and signed a dynamic recruitment class that’s going to push our returning veterans,” said MacAulay. “After months of preparation, our coaching staff is ready to build on our strong foundation and prepare our team to win the 2025 CJFL Championship.”
Fans and media are invited to catch the first official look at the 2025 Regina Thunder as Spring Camp kicks off Friday night at 7:00 PM at Mosaic Stadium.
Team President Murad Al-Katib sees Spring Camp as more than just training — he feels it’s the launchpad for success on and off the field.
“Spring Camp is where players prove themselves — their skill, their hustle, their heart,” said Al-Katib. “It’s also a testament to the community that supports us. Huge thanks to our season sponsors — Fries Tallman, AGT, the Rider’s Foundation, and Co-op Refinery Complex (our ‘Thunder Acts of Kindness’ sponsor) — for standing behind Regina Thunder and the future of junior football in Saskatchewan.”
The 2025 season starts now — and the Thunder are ready to roll.
