The Regina Thunder’s defence posted a second straight shutout, backstopping a 30-0 victory against the visiting Winnipeg Rifles on Sunday while winning its third straight game of the Prairie Football Conference season.

MacAulay, who won the CJFL championship as a member of the Regina Rams in 1997 and 1998, returned to the Queen City to captain the Thunder that first season after spending a year playing football overseas.

Last season saw the Thunder finish second in the Prairie Conference with an overall record of 7-3. They fell just shy of winning the Prairie Conference with a 21-13 loss to the Saskatoon Hilltops in the championship game.
