The road to the PFC championship begins on Sunday, October 13 for the Regina Thunder.
After finishing in second place during the 2024 Prairie Football Conference (PFC) with an impressive 6-2 record, the Regina Thunder are set to host the Calgary Colts in semi-final action. Kick-off is set for 1pm this Sunday afternoon at Leibel Field.
The Regina Thunder had so much fun playing their Prairie Football Conference game against the Calgary Colts, they want to do it again.
Same place. Same time. Same opponents, with the home team hoping the upcoming league semifinal at Leibel Field resembles the regular-season finale — which the Thunder won 40-21 on Sunday — minus the big plays. If the Colts had won the contest, they would have hosted the Thunder in their PFC semifinal. So the victory saved the Thunder a bus trip.

This was not your typical Saskatoon Hilltops-Regina Thunder clash.
No nail-biting, game-ending drama. No last-second field goals or touchdowns.
Finger-nails, for once, were spared. Surprisingly, this game did not go down to the wire like so many contests between the two provincial rivals in the Canadian Junior Football League’s Prairie Football Conference.
Usually a starting linebacker for his Prairie Football Conference team, Mitchell Tanchak contributed two rushing touchdowns to the Regina Thunder’s 51-16 victory over the Edmonton Huskies on Sunday at Leibel Field.
